The Thomas Dale Knights added another win under their belt on Thursday, when they defeated the host Colonial Heights Colonials 3-0.
Thomas Dale forward Daniel Comer scored all three goals in the first half for the Knights.
“This is the first time I think we really felt confident,” said Comer.
“I felt better than I have all year, my knees are better, my body is
feeling better and the team played well.”
Colonial Heights’ best scoring opportunity came in the first half off of a corner kick in which junior forward Justin Barnette struck a ball passed Thomas Dale goalkeeper Bill Groben but was denied by the post.
Just minutes later, Comer was able to get behind the Colonials defense and score his first goal putting the Knights up 1-0.
Comer would score two more goals in the half by using his speed to slip past defenders and great concentration to finish his opportunities.
Thomas Dale had several more dangerous chances on goal in the second half but were unable to finish.
